Now put the foundations under them.” Roland Wells Robbins, an American archeologist, discovered the foundation of Thoreau’s cabin in 1945. The chimney foundation, situated in the back of the original structure was identified first, and the excavation of window glass, nails, plaster and bricks provided additional evidence of the small cabin’s location. |
