Community Clean Up Day

Start: Thu, 01/01/1970 - 00:00 End: Thu, 01/01/1970 - 00:00

Despite Tough Economy, Locals Find Ways To Contribute

Tough economic times cannot stop New Hampshire citizens from helping their local communities.

Citizens of Meredith and Laconia are volunteering “sweat equity,” not cash, to contribute to their local communities on April 22, 2009.

“Sustain Ability” and the “Lakes Region Living Lightly Association” is sponsoring a “Community Clean Up Day” to celebrate Earth Day on April 22, 2009, to beautify Meredith’s Waukewan Beach and Laconia’s Opechee Park. Volunteers will remove leaves, trash and other debris from both areas. The fun begins at Waukewan Beach at 1:30 p.m., and continues at Opechee Park at 5:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to volunteer! Please bring a rake, if possible.

For questions or more details about the Meredith event, contact Erica at 387-9116.
For questions or more details about the Laconia event, contact Carol at 344-7029.
