Make an Earth Day Resolution

Start: 02/07/2009 - 18:53

End: 12/31/2009 - 18:53

Each year on New Year's Day resolutions are made by people committed to change in their lives.
Greensleeves, The Green Dry Cleaner in New York, initiated the same concept last year for Earth Day. Individuals that have a real concern and those who just want to give something to the cause are encouraged to make a Resolution for Earth Day, to change one thing about their daily lives that will make a small difference in the health of the planet.

planetfesto.org virtual ribbon around the world

www.Planetfesto.org is a all-volunteer, worldwide movement to build a virtual ribbon around the world of images and statements of why we love the planet, and our personal pledges of action. We've already had people from 54 countries make over 8,000 pieces of the ribbon...about half from schools around the world. Beautiful, inspirational, practical, fun...break out of guilt and fear to a subversive idea that we need a new relationship with the planet, and that we can make a big difference. Search by your country, city, school, or group to see your own subset of the ribbon.

Green Screen Sharing: Using the Internet to reduce CO2 emissions

Start: 04/22/2009 - 10:30

End: 12/22/2009 - 20:02

For this event, we are encouraging businesses, Earth Day supporters, or anyone who has to participate in a meeting this week, to stay in the office or at home and use screen sharing to meet online. Keep your cars in the garages and use the Internet to reduce CO2 gas emissions.
Screen sharing is an example of Green IT that replaces travel and face-to-face meetings by allowing people to organize meetings over the Web. Such meetings allow you to reduce the amount of time you spend traveling, and consequently contributes significantly to the reduction of CO2 gas emissions.

Walden Play

Start: 11/23/2009 - 17:00

End: 11/23/2009 - 21:27

Walden Thoreau is America's original "tree hugger" and forefather of our environmental movement. Yet, the generation in schools right now haven’t a clue about Thoreau. The play is helping introduce him to thousands of folks who have heard about him and know some of his quotes, but nothing about his life and his thinking. With the success of the Walden play and radio drama we are ready to take the next huge step in our vision for Walden .
