Earth Day in Dallas

The historic Esplanade in Fair Park held one of the largest Earth Day events in Dallas memory, the first edition of the Green Apple Festival in the Texan city. Talent included George Stanford, The Steps, Cas Haley, Junior Brown, Martin Sexton and Los Lonely Boys. Approximately 7,500 people attended the event, emceed by radio jock Andy Chandler from JACK FM.

Dallas Mayor Pro Tem Elba Garcia and John Brecher of the North Texas Auto Association brought a strong environmental message to the crowd, who also had the chance to learn sustainable practices from the green businesses and non-profits present at the venue.
